It is big enough to be useful and small enough that you are not tempted to fill every litre simply because it is there, which is how bikes end up handling badly on mountain roads.
It is genuinely waterproof, sealed seams rather than a water-resistant shell, so monsoon rain and river crossings are handled. Reinforced stress points and UV-resistant fabric mean it survives years of Indian sun, not one season of it. Dust-resistant zips, because on Indian roads dust does more damage over time than rain ever will.

Questions riders ask
Is 50 L enough for a Ladakh trip?
For most riders, yes, if you are staying in guest houses. If you are carrying a tent and sleeping bag as well, look at the 72 L.
50L or 72L?
Start with 50 L. It is the size most riders actually need, and 22 extra litres of empty space mostly tempts you to overload the bike. Go 72 L for camping kit or riding two-up.
Do I need a rear rack?
No. It straps to the pillion seat and grab rails. A rack adds stability if you load it heavy but is not required at this size.
Does it come with a dry bag?
No. The bag itself is waterproof with sealed seams, so a liner is not needed for rain. The Wanderlust series includes separate dry bags if you want gear sorted into waterproof compartments.
