The rain cover is not an accessory
It comes in the box, because on Indian roads you are not choosing between rain and dust, you are getting both. The cover goes over the whole bag in under a minute and stays put at speed. Under it, a waterproof dry bag handles the things that absolutely cannot get wet.
Two layers, because one is a single point of failure and you are four hundred kilometres from a dry shirt.
Genuine YKK zips, because zips are what fail
Ask any rider whose luggage has let them down and it is almost never the fabric. It is the zip, jammed with dust on day six, forced once too often, split at the stop.
These are original YKK weather-sealed zips. They cost more than the generic alternative and they are the single component most worth paying for on a bag you open twenty times a day.
Pockets that mean you stop unpacking the whole bag
Separate compartments for tools, gadgets, documents and personal items. It sounds minor in a product description and stops sounding minor at a guest house in Spiti when you want one charger and not the contents of your entire bag spread across the bed.
A bottle pocket you can reach at a fuel stop
Sized for a standard bottle, snug enough that it does not work its way out on rough ground. Dehydration creeps up on a rider in Indian heat long before you notice it, and the bottle you have to dig for is the bottle you do not drink.

Pile your luggage high behind the seat and your bike will tell you about it at the first corner. Weight up high moves the centre of mass, and the bike gets vague exactly when you want it precise.
Saddle bags solve that. They hang low, either side of the rear wheel, close to where the mass already is. Load a bike properly with saddle bags and it still steers like a bike.
The Sport version is cut narrower and more raked than our Cruising bag, so it clears rearsets and high exhausts and does not act like a sail at highway speed. It runs 60 litres compressed for daily use and expands to 75 when the trip gets longer.
1000D polyester shell, YKK weather-sealed zips, a dry bag for what must stay dry and a rain cover for everything else. Anti-slip base so it does not mark your paint, quick-release buckles so it comes off fast.

Weight where it belongs
Saddle bags hang either side of the rear wheel, low and close to the centre of mass. A loaded bike with saddle bags steers better than the same load piled high behind the seat.
Expands 60 to 75 litres
Compressed it keeps a narrow profile for daily riding. Expanded it swallows a week of touring kit. You decide per trip, not at the checkout.

Questions riders ask
Sport or Cruising saddle bag?
Sport is narrower and more raked, made to clear rearsets and stay out of the wind on sport and adventure bikes. Cruising is wider and squarer, sized for the long flat platform on a cruiser or classic. If your bike has mid or rear-set pegs, take Sport.
Is 60 to 75 L the total or per side?
Total, both sides combined.
Will it touch my exhaust?
On most bikes, no. On bikes with a high right-side silencer you should run a pannier rail or heat shield. Tell us your model and we will confirm before you buy.
Can I leave it on the bike overnight?
We would not. Soft luggage is not theft-proof and UV plus rain shortens the life of any fabric. Two minutes to remove it is time well spent.
